On June 22, 2003, while playing basketball, I drew an offensive foul from someone younger, stronger and faster than me. Big mistake. When you are 46 years old, and a 21 year old is driving to the basket, you let him have the layup and move out of his way. I broke my right wrist (distal radius) and required what is known as external fixation with 2 K-wires. That is the picture you saw above. The recovery will take a year. Incidentally, I am back playing basketball after one year of physical therapy and another 3 months of shooting and dribbling practice.

We have been living in Israel since 1982 and have never regretted it for a moment.

My hobbies

I enjoy basketball, action movies, skiing, and lounging at the beach and watching the world go by. I also enjoy writing humor like a posting I made in 1992 to Usenet about a female conspiracy. More recently I have built a fish pond which was awarded 1st place in Israel for 2008 (Hebrew).
